Converged Backbone Transformation*
With the explosion of bandwidth from IP-based video services such as IPTV, on-line video and 3G/4G mobile video, Service Providers must make additional investments in core networks to satisfy customer demands. These additional investments are not directly compensated by additional revenues however and many links and network elements remain underutilized. As a result, costs are rising faster than revenues, eroding profitability.
The Converged Backbone Transformation (CBT) solution changes the game for Service Providers by integrating the IP and optical layers into one single entity with common visibility, provisioning and protection to provide the lowest cost per bit delivery.
