Volubill Sheds New Light on Transition to 4G Networks on Light Reading Webinar
Recent Industry Developments Trigger Discussion of Policy Control Issues
London, UK—10 May 2010—Volubill, the leading provider of charging and policy control solutions, will bring its expertise to a Light Reading webinar on Wednesday May 12, 2010 at 7:00 a.m. GMT, 3:00 p.m. HKT. Policy Control in LTE Networks, hosted by Heavy Reading senior analyst Graham Finnie, will explore how the transition to LTE affirms the need for policy management in higher-bandwidth mobile networks, and the strategies mobile operators can implement to make their transitions from existing platforms more seamless.
The fervor surrounding LTE has increased dramatically in recent months as operators worldwide are preparing for the imminent launch of new 4G networks by the end of 2010. But even with the promise of faster network speeds and more bandwidth from these new mobile networks, reports like Ericsson’s indicating that December 2009 was the first time mobile data traffic volumes outweighed voice traffic have made it clear that policy control will be critical for the success of these new networks.
“This webinar will address key topics that are dominating the telecom sector,” said John Aalbers, CEO of Volubill. “As more and more providers move to LTE platforms, they need the tools to make these transitions successfully.”
He continues, “In order to achieve this, providers need tightly integrated systems that can set policies, enforce them, and monetize them through real-time charging engines. We will explore the different approaches and options for providers to consider in the webinar.”
