Overview
Volubill’s CONTROL-IT product line, contains policy management and policy enforcement products designed to control network resources, services and customer activity. Products within CONTROL-IT can come pre-integrated or as individual drop-in capabilities to suit the enhancement of existing eco-systems.
Policy based control enables basic data services, such as broadband and mobile internet, to evolve to more profitable segmented, personalised and premium services with network resources allocated according to customer service agreement and spend.
This is achieved by evaluating network traffic in real-time against subscriber service agreements to deliver and control network sessions and applications for end-to-end service delivery. Control can take many forms such as subscriber quota allocation (time/volume), authorisation/denial, bandwidth management, quality of service establishment, session prioritisation, throttling and termination.
Network traffic evaluation includes traffic inspection technologies for application identification (e.g. P2P, Video), user location, service source/destination and protocols. When combined with real-time assessment of the subscriber profile, their balance, their personal preferences and the generation of dynamic dialogue with the user, service providers are able to:
